THE EDITOR'S NOTE

“Not all superheroes have capes, some have Teaching Degrees.”

                                             -

A genuine teacher who teaches from their heart, truly is a superhuman and no quote sums it up better than the one just mentioned. Taking up teaching as a passion let alone a career option is quite the commitment. Dedicating one’s whole entire life to teaching other people what they have known and learnt from is inspiring.

As students, many of us complain about the workload provided and insensitivity of a teacher but what we need to wrap our head around is the fact that the only reason they do this is to mold us into significant, hardworking and persistent individuals. They have no reason to wake up early in the morning just to see most of us mourning at the very thought of school. But the fact that they do so just to transfer their knowledge and help us recuperate when we fall is admirable.

Teaching is not just about having the knowledge; it is about being able to communicate it the right way. Not everyone can stand in the front of a room and inculcate values the way it should be but being able to come across teachers who could come through the right way was an enlightening experience.

Dr S Radhakrishnan was one such iconic figure whose aim was to bring about a change. He was the epitome of an ideal teacher. Not only did he teach in a near-perfect method but beyond all, he earned the respect of his pupil. Teacher’s day is celebrated on the 5TH of September every year to commemorate his birthday and celebrate teachers who work day in day out to help us succeed in life.

This is a tribute to all the wonderful teachers who have inspired students to chase their goals and conquer life every day. Teachers truly are a blessing and a saving grace. It is important that we love and respect them as a family because a major part of our lives is shaped by them.

STUDENT'S SAY

A Tribute to the Masterminds of a Brave New World

A silhouette of respect, honour, and an abundance of knowledge. A teacher is woven with these thin and finely handcrafted threads that are spun with warmth and love. Teaching is an art and dedication is the brush that sweeps around the canvas to create the masterpiece intended. Their hard work is the paint that spreads colour and vigour throughout their students’ lives.

"Teachers should be the best minds in the country"- Dr. Radhakrishnan.

Teachers day was commemorated by Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on the 5th of September 1962, who himself was a renowned teacher and philosopher.

Teachers hold an important and special place in our lives. Bringing out the best from each one of their pupil is not a cakewalk. Their zeal and encouragement is what binds us to ourgoals and allows us to spread our wings and soar high up in the sky. They nurture us so as to be the confident and sensible human beingsthat we work on being every day, guiding us through the maze of life and its hair pins.

Our talents are sometimes sacrificed with, owing to the busy life that we lead, but our teachers make it point to make those hidden and forgotten flairs to resurface through their humble tries and simple persuasion. Our ephemeral lives transfers us from the guileless and goal-driven school student to a responsible and questioning adult but throughout this journey, the lessons and teachings of our teachers are to remain forever. Their advices and simple rebukes will resonate in our ears; sometimes as reminders and sometimes as a gentle memory.

Teachers truly do make us meet with who we really are. They provide us the light to find our path towards a better future. They know, they understand and in their anger and reprimands lie the care and worry with which they make us realize our mistakes and open new windows for us to perceive the world through.

Teacher’s Day is an occasion and it should be celebrated with grandeur and splendour because our teachers are eminent and venerable individuals who radiate positivity and enlightens our life. 5th September is just a date but our gratitude and respect is certainly for a lifetime.
